Children at Robert Ferguson Primary School are taught about the positive benefits of internet use, while also being taught about the many negative aspects. There are so many online dangers, that good supervision and frequent discussion with a reliable adult are essential to making sure children learn how to keep themselves safe.
However, most access to the internet is from home, so key to keeping your child safe online, is knowing yourself what it is your children are doing while they are online. Your children need your help and advice to make sure that they are keeping personal information secure, that they are protected from stranger danger or exploitation, and to ensure they do not see or watch things which are inappropriate for their age, or which are harmful to their safety and wellbeing.
We can provide training for parents to help you keep your child safe. Each year we routinely offer this to all parents, but parents can also request training at any time by contacting the school office.
